The Nigerian National League

The Nigeria National League NNL in its Congress has fixed March 17th
as the kick-off date for the 2nd tier division football of  Nigeria.
The board agreed that the league would be in two divisions A and B
unlike an abridged format it's experienced in the last couple of seasons.
Group A has 14 teams while group B consist of 16 teams. Group A teams will play twenty eight matches each (Northern region) and thirty matches for each team in Group B (Southern/Western region). This happened because more teams fall on south than teams in the North.
Group A comprises of Adamawa United, Yobe Desert Stars, Bida Lions
(Afe-Babalola), Sokoto United, FC Taraba, Kwara United, FC Zamfara, Kogi
United, FRSC FC, Kaduna United, Giwa FC, Jigawa Golden Stars, FC Abuja and
Mighty Jet
While group B consists of Bayelsa United, Osun United, Abia Comets,
Warri Wolves, Akwa Starlets, Unicem Rovers, AS Racine, Papilo FC, Insurance
FC, My People FC, Crown FC, Ikorodu United, Delta Force, Heartland FC, First Bank FC, Go Round FC, Dreams FC (Nnewi United) and Gateway United.
The top two teams from each group will get promotion ticket to the elite division (NPFL) while the super 4 would be staged to know the NNL winner
after the season ends.
Hence, all matches involving Giwa FC would be pending till Nigeria Football
Federation NFF gives their position and verdict on the owner.
