Lagos Rail Mass Transit is a system being built and under construction in Lagos, Nigeria. This system is sponsored by the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) and is pictured to consist eventually of seven lines.

The railway facilities including electric power, signalling, rolling stock, and fare collection equipment will be catered for by the private sector under a Concession Contract. LAMATA is responsible for policy direction, regulation, and infrastructure for the rail system network.
The trains' movement will be between Mile2 and CMS lagos

The concessionaire will generate its own dedicated electricity. The first phase of the network (Phase I of the Blue Line) was originally scheduled to enter revenue service by the first quarter of 2014.
It was announced by the Lagos State Governor in a forum that the Rail system will officially commence operations in December 2016.
