Football fans want Sergio Ramos banned after disgraceful challenge during Plzen v Real Madrid

Santiago Solari took charge of his first Champions League game as Real Madrid boss with his side taking on Viktoria Plzen on Wednesday night.

The Spanish manager, who took over from Julen Lopetegui last month, was clearly excited for his first taste of Champions League football as a manager.

"It's always very nice, this competition, which is linked to the history of our club, inseparable," Solari said in the lead up to the game.

"When we hear the Champions League anthem, we all get excited. It's fantastic to be back in this competition.

"This is my third game in this role, so I'm very happy that I get a chance [in the Champions League]. I enjoyed it a lot as a player."

His first Champions League game as a manager got off to a good start with Madrid running riot in the first half.

Los Blancos were 4-0 up at the break thanks to a brace from Karim Benzema and a goal apiece for Gareth Bale and Casemiro.

But it wasn't all positive for Los Blancos.

Sergio Ramos, Real Madrid's captain, managed to hit the headlines once again with a quite brutal elbow on Milan Havel.

It left Havel in a heap on the floor with his nose bleeding profusely.

Ouch. That has got to hurt. Amazingly, he wasn't even booked for the challenge.

Nevertheless, some will defend Ramos, saying it was unintentional.

But, unfortunately, it doesn't look that way. The defender has a reputation of moments like this and it looks as if he intentionally caught his opponent.

That was the view shared by many football fans, who condemned Ramos for the incident.
