Hakeem Olajuwon Donates $150k to Hurricane Harvey Victims

Hakeem Olajuwon, a Nigerian US based basketball player donated the sum of $150,000 as support to the Victims of the Hurricane Harvey that happened in Houston.

Houston, which is the 4th most populous city in the United State of America, was faced with a Natural disaster that had left many dead, homeless and loss of properties.

Sylvester Turner open a relief fund platform for people to donat. Via this Hakeem also paid his quota.

The sportman who has spent 17 years of his basketball career playing playing for the Rocket Basketball Team based in Houston.

In an interview with Chron a US based platform, He said:

“heartbroken to see the devastation and loss caused by Hurricane Harvey”.
“The people of Houston are in my thoughts and prayers as they work to rebuild their lives and communities,” the statement read.
“There is so much to be done and I hope that my contribution can help make a difference in the lives of my fellow Houstonians.”
Olajuwon joins a long list of sports and media personalities who have made donations as part of relief contributions in the tragedy.
