Today marks 150years of Abraham Lincoln's assassination. In an interview recorded for sky news, Lincoln enthusiast James Swanson tells the story of the days leading up to the death on April 14, 1865, and the hunt for his killer. He was the first American president to be assassinated. He was shot in the head by john Wilkes Booth.
Lincoln's life and legacy will be honored at Ford's theatre tomorrow. The theatre  will host a candlelight vigil and a commemorative performance to remember Lincoln's greatest attainments. Mr Swanson, author of man hunt: The 12day chase for Lincoln's killer, will host a midnight tour at the theatre.
The historian has spent much of his life collecting artefacts from president's life and assassination, including the theatre bill from the night he was shot. Considering Lincoln the greatest leader in American history, Mr Swanson visits the Washington theatre every year to pay his respect
